DWLG Bifold door engineers attended a house in the Middlesex UB2 area today to carry out an Aluminium Bi-Folding Door repair to a 5 leaf Bi-Folding Door set. The customer informed us that the doors were very drafty. The weather was now getting colder so the doors would require repair.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that the 5 leaf bi-folding door set was dropping. Doors 1 and 2 on the 5 leaf bi-folding door set were good. The gap at the top of the doors to the frame was as it should be. When you get to door 3 the doors began to drop. This was obvious because the gap on the top of the doors where they line up to the frame had increased in size. The issue was most prevalent between doors 4-5.

Expert engineers at DWLG decided the bottom support runner was the issue. This would need to raised. Once the bottom support runner has been raised the gap between the Bi-folding doors and the frame will close up. The doors should then work correctly and be draft-free. The issue was not with the glazing so there would be no need to “toe and heel” the glass.
